KATADROM’s “Take Away” festival International Changing Perspectives Film Festival continues its journey with Portugal’s PORTO FEMME – International Film Festival.

Under the title of “Porto Femme Sessions #14”, the screening will take place at September 26TH, 2018 10:00 in Maus Hábitos – Espaço de Intervenção Cultural in Porto, Portugal.

PORTO FEMME is the first International film Festival from Portugal that aims giving visibility to the work of women filmmakers.

In 2016 the XX Element Project – Cultural Association was born with the objective of promoting the artistic works carried out by women and also to show through them and the development of cultural, civic and social activities, the rights of women and gender equality.

The association intends to create privileged spaces of dissemination of these works, where the main focus will be the cinema.

One of the major projects of the association goes through the annual holding of the Porto Femme – International Film Festival dedicated to women’s directors, as well as the organization of female cinema cycles, a program dedicated to women’s point of view. It is intended to combat, in this way, the under-representation of women in cinema.

On the last Wednesday of each month, the Maus Hábitos will screen thematic cinema cycles in which the common denominator is films directed by women.

The objective is to give visibility to the work of women in the cinema, through the projection of their works and, whenever possible, their presence in the sessions, promoting the encounter between the public and the authors.

This month Porto Femme screens a program of the 6th Edition of the International Changing Perspectives Film Festival. In the session “CALAMITY” by Séverine De Streyker and Maxime Feyers, “IN WHITE” by Dania Bdeir , “THE MIDWIFE” by Ezgi Ay, “ARÎN” by Mizgin Müjde Arslan, “FIREBIRD” by Velislava Gospodinova, “PAMÇKA” by Elda Sorra, “THE REALM OF DEEPEST KNOWING” by Seunghee Kim, “THE LAST DAY OF THE EMPIRE” by Anna Rubi and Julia Halasz will meet the audience.
