4th edition of International Changing Perspectives Film Festival will Focus on the Theme of “The Border”
The 4th edition of International Changing Perspectives Film Festival will open calls for submissions in December 2015.
The festival will be held in Istanbul (Turkey) between the 6th and the 8th of May 2016, to then continue its yearly tour across other cities: Berlin, Yogyakarta, and other cities around the world.
For the first time the Festival will be taken to Asia, to the city of Yogyakarta (Indonesia).
Despite its young age, the festival already left a mark for its innovative and groundbreaking character – a ‘take-away’ festival consisting of films screenings, panel discussions, photography exhibitions and workshops to enhance dialogue and understanding across borders.
And ‘The Border’ is this year festival theme.
To be born or to live on one side or the other of a border is often random.
However, it’s not so easy to let go of the constrictions borders create, as our identities are often shaped upon a deep conviction of belonging to one, unique place, country, religion or gender. Besides 2016 thematic focused program, the festival will also screen films under its traditional sections: Exchange Experience, Cultural Insights, Ridicule, Umbrella.
